At or around the $2,000 level can get you one heck of camera these days, usually offering loads of performance and top-notch quality for both still photographers and videographers, alike. Canon's long-anticipated 6D Mark II arrived some five years after the original, and while this sub-$2,000 full-frame DSLR does feature some welcomed upgrades, in other areas the 6D Mark II feels somewhat stale or simply not as good as the original -- or when compared to other similarly-priced competitors.

Sadly, the video arena is an area where the Canon 6D Mark II comes up short, especially when you consider rival cameras like the Panasonic GH5 and Sony A7 III. Our resident video expert Jaron Schneider recently field tested the 6D Mark II as a video camera, and in our 6D Mark II Video Features, Specs & Analysis you get all the details about what the 6D Mark II offers when it comes to video as well as see Jaron's analyis of its quality, performance and how it compares to the competition. Suffice it to say, the 6D II misses the target in a lot of areas when it comes to video. If you're serious about shooting video and are considering the Canon 6D Mark II, read our Video Features & Analysis first.
